I started out with my paintings and drawings, but after several months I was feeling a bit ensecure about things and stopped listing my paintings for sale.
After a few months I came back to Etsy and decided to try something a bit different. I now make digital art. I create anything from collage sheets for others to use in their crafts, to photo files for people to print out for their walls. I also make banner, tags, cards, basically I make anything thats asks of me or comes to mind.
I am enjoying this and the cost to make each file is time not actual cash which is nice. My only cost is to list which isn't too bad.
Now I just need to develop me style in digital art.
I found digital art to be a little more difficult in some ways then painting because you have to learn software as well as skill with the mouse. I am enjoying the challenge and I think as I get further and further into this new direction I will become better at it.
I hope one day to run a successful business from my home dealing with digital art. Till then I am just going to go with the flow and see what happens.
Feedback is always welcome, and if you have a custom request you would like me to create for you, come find me on Etsy by clinking on one the pictures you see to your right.
Have a great day,
Chroma

ACEO
I've finally got a bit of a collection up for ACEO's. A few weeks ago someone suggested I offer my art on ACEO's.
It took a couple of weeks to decide what type of art I might offer on an ACEO since the "canvas" is so small.
I decided I would just "go with it". I offer illustrations, which I haven't done in quite some time and had forgotten how much I enjoy them. I also created some pattern cards. Basically, when the buyer purchases the pattern ACEO they also purchase the right to use that pattern in their creations. The only rule is they must provide me with a link back to my store and they can not resell the pattern by itself. The pattern must be used within the craft. If this sounds unclear at all, let me know and I will be happy to try and clarify what I mean. I'm not always the best at speaking out what's in my head.
I also draw some Pansy's. When I was little pansies were my favorite flower. I think I liked them so much because of all the colors they came in. My mom always had some growing by the house in the summer time.
I recently splurged and got myself a gardening book and there was such a pretty picture of a pansy in there I felt compelled to draw it. I ended up doing a series of pansy ACEO cards. I am also working on a painting too.
I'd like to attempt other flowers too. There is this really pretty picture of this rare flower, wont say what. You will have to visit my store on Etsy often and watch for it to find out. But anyways, there's this rare flower in the magazine, its BEAUTIFUL! The picture is so close and clear you can even see the reflections in the dew on the flower. I can't wait to try and capture all of that in pencil or paint, maybe even both?
Anyways, I haven't posted in a while, thought I should stop in and say hello.

Welcome to my World
I wanted a place to show off my art. I tend to do different things, depending on what type of mood I'm in. Recently I've been interested in abstract.
The painting show to the right is the first serious piece that I have done. I had a lot of fun while painting it. Hubby wasn't to happy though when he woke up in the morning and found paint splatters all over the carpet and furniture.
I honestly had never planned on learning abstract, thinking what could I possible gain from something so free form. I found I felt very energized and relaxed after. Big surprise to me, so I guess I found my meditative practice for those stressed-out moments.
Currently, I am also learning to draw dogs. I have taking a liking to pencil crayons. What I didn't realize is that there is a huge different in quality between those cheap everyday pencils you buy for children's art projects and the silly over-priced pencils you buy in the art stores.
I bought my first professional grade set of watercolor pencils the other day. It was only a small set since their largest set was only 32 pencils. I paid over $40 for 32 pencil crayons. OUCH!!!
Please buy my art so I can make this money back :) ( big huge smile, bats eyelashes)
In the past I've always painted more surreal type art, or portraits of women in impressionist style. Abstract and dogs are quite a leap in the learning curve for me.
Hope you like my art. Please let me know what you think. Any comments will help me with exploration in color and art.
Thanks for stopping by.
Sincerely,
Chroma
